At the beginning of 2015 the English Ice Hockey Association published it's Sport Development Plan which was produced after twelve months consultation with members of the Association.
In June 2015, the Board of Directors agreed to introduce a programme of change in support of the Sport Development Plan and part of that change was the formation and establishment of a new section for the Association with responsibility for overseeing development of junior ice hockey.
The newly formed Junior League Management Committee (JLMC) now has full responsibility for all aspects of the junior game and together with the EIHA's Coach Education Programme is intending to breathe new life and energy in to ice hockey.
As the newly appointed Chair of the JLMC my aims and objectives are simple:
1. Promote and develop the sport at the grass roots level to encourage more participation across our target group of children between the ages of 5 and 18 years.
2. Provide support and guidance to all of the Associations member Clubs in order to ensure objective 1 is achieved.
3. Actively engage with all stakeholders to deliver the best possible experiences in ice hockey for each and every participant either as a player, parent, coach or club volunteer.
Jacqueline is newly appointed JLMC Chair having been on the committee since 2001
Jacqueline's two sons, Daniel and Matthew, began playing at Sunderland IHC as she was became a "hockey mum" in 1996.
From there Jacqueline became team manager of u10/u12 sides before graduating to the role of Club Secretary.
In 2000 the Crowtree rink closed and Jacqueline ran the club without a permanent home for ten years before the club transferred and merged with the reopened Billingham club in 2011.
At Conference level Jacqueline was Northern Conference Secretary from 2001-2005 when she became Northern Chair. She is also a member of the EIHA Womens Committee and Conference Tournament Committee.
